Yesterday an IP (70.30.3.179 - belonging to Rogers Cable Inc., Toronto, Ontario...) deleted some paragraphs. Not that i think the deleted paragraphs were valuable but that fact that the IP obviuosly comes from Ontario makes me wonder... Well just a thought ^_^ --C.Löser 16:32, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, agreed. I think the deleted paragraphs were not NPOV, but I would like to see some rationale for deleting them given. This is particularly true now, because the adoption disclosure issue has recently receieved a lot of press here, and is likely to receive more. --Saforrest 08:45, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, after some consideration and perusal of Cavoukian's website I've re-removed what I previously restored. The text was outright false, suggesting that Cavoukian had entirely retreated from her previous criticism, stated that birth parents had no privacy, and then baldly asserting that Cavoukian had no control over this subject. So if the anonymous lurker who removed the text provided no justification, I am now doing so.
As for the IP coming from Ontario: well, I rather doubt many others will care. (Other than yourself, obviously; thanks for translating this article into German!) --Saforrest 08:56, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that many changes are being made by IPC staff to this page.

They seem to be overly manipulating the page and adding details of papers written by the IPC and removing certain details about Ann Cavoukian.

I have left several notices about unexplained deletion of material on User_talk:38.112.93.138. However, 38.112.93.138 seems quite dedicatedly ignoring any attempts at communication. I think we should give this a little more time and if it remains a problem, consider more serious action. --Saforrest 19:46, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I doubt if users editing anonymously are even aware that they have a talk page. :) Seems the PR edits here are fairly innocuous, though still not as NPOV as they should be. There are a lot of missing citations. I wonder if it's worth littering the page with "citation needed" or should the unreferenced information just be removed? 208.91.114.4 (talk) 19:09, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Both of you are correct, although I see that the "citations needed" marks have remained intact. I wish someone from IPC would work on this article, as it is a mess, and not very credible at the moment. There is no photograph of Ann Cavoukian, PhD, which IPC should be able to provide. Lots of content that has a NOT-NPOV feel to it, too. Yet there is no need for that! The subject of the article is certainly notable, and credentialed.
When articles read like public relations-crafted press releases, I become very suspicious. There is truly no need for that here: The unadorned truth and relevant facts, assembled in the usual Wikipedia biography of living person format, with appropriate citations which are abundantly available online, would be much more informative and reputable. I have not made any changes to the article, as it really needs a thorough clean-up, and I don't want to make matters worse by being careless. --FeralOink (talk) 11:09, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
