Moved from Anglicanism

[edit]

The text is more appropriate on its own page. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast 04:44, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cut, pasted and merged the text under the sub-heading "Ecumenical relations" at Anglican Communion to here. Some of it was an exact duplicate. Some of it was oddly contradictory. Best to have all the info at one page to make best use of time and effort. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast 12:23, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

The article being inconsistent in the variety of English it is using, I have brought it into line with the conventions of British English. MOS:RETAIN provides that when an article does not fall in line with a national variety of English, "the variety found in the first post-stub revision that introduced an identifiable variety" should be used (unless MOS:TIES applies). As the article has never been a stub, I referred to this revision by the article's first contributor.

Having been reverted by Tahc, I am raising the issue here. Tahc, for what reason do you oppose this? Graham (talk) 01:25, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I admit I am a poor speller, and for that or another reason I (normally) don't see any words in the article as having a British spelling... so I want to assume good faith on your part but all I see is those three words with an American spelling and none with a British spelling.
Can you point out four or more words that have British spelling that have long been in the article? tahc chat 01:47, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see three words with a British spelling: "favourable", "recognised", and "authorised". That being the case, am I correct in assuming that you have no objection to retuning to the original spelling in accordance with MOS:RETAIN? Graham (talk) 02:18, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sure that is fine, since it is a tie and it looks like the British spellings have been around longer. tahc chat 16:47, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
