Phrasing
[edit]"...who escaped during his 1981 trial for killing..." I inserted the word "custody" between "escaped" and "during" as I believed this clarified things, as it stands I think it just sounds a bit odd, and could, perhaps, be misinterpreted to mean he escaped conviction or that sort of thing. --Counter-revolutionary 14:39, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- He escaped across the border in addition. It's perfectly clear. One Night In Hackney303 14:55, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- I wouldn't make an issue out of it if I didn't think pointing out what he escaped from would make it clearer. --Counter-revolutionary 15:06, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Where else might he have escaped from while on trial? One Night In Hackney303 15:42, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- As I say for some reason it didn't seem clear that it was a physical escape. --Counter-revolutionary 15:44, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

This is a well referenced article. It is very well writen, and all credit it due to One Night In Hackney303. On the current discussion, it would be my considered opinion, to suggest that this is an exercise in nit picking, and dose no service to anyone to continue. --Domer48 19:55, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not disputing it's a good article, I just thought it would best to discuss this issue, apparently not. --Counter-revolutionary 19:59, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Irish/British
[edit]I've re-added Category:British royal pardon recipients. I believe the category is for people who received a pardon from the British monarch, which he did. Even if the category is interpreted to mean British people who received a royal pardon, Fusco was technically "British", having been born in Northern Ireland when it was part of the United Kingdom. Good Ol’factory (talk) 04:21, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- You show a lack of understanding about the nationality of Irish people. Post-GFA people born in the north can be Irish, British or both. Angelo Fusco has lived in the south since 1981, and if you wish to describe him as British the burden of evidence is on you to provide a citation that says he is currently British, rather than conjecture based on his place of birth which is irrelevant post-GFA. Domer48 (talk) 08:32, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- You're completely missing the point — re-read (or read) the definition of the category. It refers to the source of the pardon, not the nationality of the recipient. Good Ol’factory (talk) 09:00, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- You just said "Fusco was technically "British", having been born in Northern Ireland when it was part of the United Kingdom" - so your point was wrong, please do not try and backtrack to cover up your mistake. Domer48 (talk) 09:05, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- That may be so, but it was a side point and not the central thrust of what I was saying. If you like I can strike it out. There. Good Ol’factory (talk) 09:08, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- You just said "Fusco was technically "British", having been born in Northern Ireland when it was part of the United Kingdom" - so your point was wrong, please do not try and backtrack to cover up your mistake. The category is a sub-category of a "British people" category, and Fusco will not be placed in that category per WP:V and WP:BLP. Domer48 (talk) 09:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, we got that. I've retracted that statement. Now, for the category in question — read the definition of the category, please. If a parent category disagrees with the definition, the solution is easy — change the parent category. It doesn't mean you empty out the category. Good Ol’factory (talk) 09:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
