I understand that the character has come out. But, per WP:CAT, categories are not supposed to be used for every facet of an individual or article - just for the "significant" ones. Unless being lesbian or bisexual becomes a major story-line or a major part of the character, it's not notable enough for the character to be categorized in that way. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs)08:10, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
She's bisexual and not lesbian, that's why the category included was "fictional bisexuals" and not "fictional lesbians". And it has become a major part of her character arc. It was central to one ep, brought up in the three that have followed so far, one of which included her talking to her ex-fiance about her sexuality. The relationship with a woman still continues. --- AvatarMN (talk) 10:49, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. Involement of her bisexuality in the story is ongoing, growing in signficance every week the show is on. Besides, just one episode or issue where they come out, characters are noticed by GLAAD and AfterEllen. The significance of one's sexuality to their person or character is inflated, but that's how it is because that's how our culture is. I think it's really lame to hide one of the only two bisexual females in American broadcast TV on the culturally debunkable idea that coming out is not signficant. -- AvatarMN (talk) 21:10, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can you provide any sources that either back up the "one of only two" claim or indicate that her bisexuality is significant to the character or the show? -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs)17:20, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I watch both Bones and House (which has Remy "Thirteen" Hadley, the other bisexual woman). Which has prompted me to read about them on AfterEllen.com. This AfterEllen article mentions them both, and the lesbians on Grey's Anatomy. Other articles cross-referenced have more information on them and their sexualities. Angela's bisexuality was winked at in previous seasons, before she came out recently. A search on After Ellen turns up Angela's name over a dozen times, and a search on glaad.org turns it up three times. -- AvatarMN (talk) 04:05, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please add something to the article about her sexuality (there's currently only two sentences?) and perhaps a ref about why that's important to the character. For what it's worth, I don't believe mentions on AfterEllen.com (which also count fan-blog entries) are particularly reliable sources for the information. According to WP:CAT, the category should be significant in some way - I don't think we're there on this one, but I bow out. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs)05:49, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This page is... a bit lacking in focus, and I'm going to try and give it a bit of an overhaul. I would absolutely welcome any help in this, and my primary goals will be to give this article (and hopefully the articles for other Bones characters) a coherent organizational structure, and citations to proper episodes (although if citations to publications/news items can be found, they will be preferentially used, as they are more reliable/verifiable). Looking forward to working with any willing editors! Jhfortier (talk) 20:37, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, mucho changes! The article has shrunk a lot -- there was a great deal of information that was duplicated (e.g. written in 'personality' and then again under 'relationships' etc). There was also a great deal of information that was unverifiable and/or "uncitable" (such as listing extensive personality traits which are not explicitly stated in specific episodes). I hope everyone is ok with that. I extended some things, trimmed others, added lots of citations, and made all of the remaining citations into in-line ones in cite templates. I've gone ahead and made a wp:bold edit to make all of the infoboxes for Bones characters match. Some were orange, other purple, etc. The ones for Temperance "Bones" Brennan were light green, and that seemed the most visible/readable. I'm not at all attached to the colour "lightgreen" but wanted something uniform and had to pick something. Jhfortier (Talk · contribs ) 17:37, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
