Alan Partridge

[edit]

His one claim to fame is that he ripped off Alan Partridge. I get it. Do we need such a large article that does not much more than keep re-iterating that fact? I also suspect that Andy himself had a hand in how large this page has gotten... (Video of Andy being gunned down? Some hope.) Mr.bonus 22:26, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've just read this page and his MySpace profile. Who the hell is this guy? Does he actually think he is Alan Partridge? Why would a real life sad man aspire to be a fictional sad man? This guy has got a lot of issues (and not of What Car? magazine).

I feel something should be mentioned about the similarity in style to Partridge. But this should be neural. Accusations suchs as he "ripped him off" should not be used. I have placed a small sentence under thew bid up tv section. Feel free to edit it, but don't delete. thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.54.71 (talk) 23:13, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropiate Tone Tag

[edit]

Do not remove the inappropiate tone tag as this article is not encyclopaedic. Needs re-writing or removing most of the information. Bobmills 22:58, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

encyclopaedic? isn't there a corner that priggishness isn't allowed to reach? leave andy and his bacon alone Pliny 23:26, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Bouncing Back" under his picture - that just sets the tone for the rest of the article. Very poorly written and any other un-biased user familiar with Wikipedia will think the same. Everything that shouldn't be written in a Wikipedia article is in there - 'humour', personal opinions and enough trivialities to sink a battleship. "Rotund bearded chef"... how on Earth do you think this article is acceptable? Mr.bonus 15:12, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Shocking to read that you can delve into the mind of an un-biased user as you seem to be the most biased person here, evidenced perfectly by your opening tirade. If you have such strong feelings that you would publicy endorse murdering Hodgson, why not try avoiding simple Internet articles about him?213.137.11.57 12:56, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Don't push me too far, as I could very easily call other users in to check the article, who will agree without question that this page should be either drastically changed or removed altogether. Your article is just as bad as the Jemish Patel page, and look how other users are all in agreement. Know when to keep your trap shut. Mr.bonus 14:32, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've got nothing against Andy Hodgson, but I do have an issue with this article. It doesn't meet the criteria listed on WP:1SP. I'm not even sure the subject deserves an article - he's not notable as far as I can see. It just seems as though someone found him funny and therefore created an article for him. This article breaches guidelines set by WP:VANITY and WP:NOR amongst others.Bobmills 17:52, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think the entire article is not in keeping with Wikipedia. I think I might edit it. It needs correcting anyway!--Screen42 21:46, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Take this bit: Andy is an ardent supporter of his home town Burnley Football Club. His dedicated following of The Clarets to every match both Home and Away has resulted in an unparalleled knowledge of the chip shops in every major town and city in England.

Before he joined Sheffield United, Nigerian Ade Akinbiyi was his favourite current player.

Welsh Wizard Ryan Giggs is his Number One player of all time, with Lee Dixon a close second.

It can be edited down to: Andy is supporter of his home town Burnley Football Club.

I have edited it, lots of the content, whilst being funny and relevant, just does not have a place on here. Maybe it should be submitted to his own site, or myspace would be a better place. --Screen42 22:41, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for getting rid of the junk in this article but it should have been the primary author himself who edited it. You've just saved him a lot of work. He should be thankful.:) Mr.bonus 12:57, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Just killing time whilst writing a dissertation!--Screen42 21:13, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
