Fair use rationale for Image:Every picture equinox.gif
Image:Every picture equinox.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Contesting Speedy Deletion as Advertisement
Hi everyone, I just want to confirm what I told Alex and High Tree, that I'm not related to Andrez Begen, but we have worked together in the media in Melbourne quite a bit - we were both writers at Inpress and then worked at TRM magazine in 2000/01, so we've kept in touch.
Andrez sent me a lot of his old stories because I'm writing a history of independent music in Melbourne and I have put some of this information on the entries here for people he interviewed. I'm a big admirer of Melbourne techno (its my hometown, so I am biased I guess!) and i also wrote a listing for Voiteck which was deleted, plus have working on the Zen Paradox and Every Picture Tells A Story entries.
Anyway I hope this clears things up and if you feel there is a conflict of interest I will stop adding info on him and/or the Melbourne scene. Sorry for any misunderstandings!!!! I don't think the Little Nobody entry should be deleted, and it should stay in Wikipedia.
Its definitely news worthy - Bergen is cited in The Age (one of Australia's principle daily newspapers) here, along with references from The Weekend Australian (another national newspaper), Britain's Muzik magazine, and Rolling Stone. His Little Nobody project has been doing music for over a decade, one of his albums was nominated at the Australian Dance Music Awards, and hes still doing music.
But I understand your concerns and it would be great if you could get someone else to rewrite the material there, as obviously I'm not doing it right and stepping accidentally on toes! But I could try to rewrite if if you want, to try to make it less so - it's a bit of a pet project for me, and some of my others have already been deleted, which is sad. please let me know!Nina phunsta (talk) 09:20, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE HANG-ON, as per above notes - somebody removed it in the past 24 hours, without making any notes at all on these pages and I'm not too sure why that was done when the HANG ON tag specifically says "This template should not be removed from a page still marked with a speedy deletion template". If I'm missing something, could you fill me in? Sorry - I'm fairly new at all this and a bit confused!!!
If it is removed, can you tell me why? That would be great. Thanks!! Nina phunsta (talk) 23:37, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:If logo.JPG
The image Image:If logo.JPG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Contesting Speedy Deletion as Advertisement 2009
I guess I write here about recent idea to delete this entry, I would like the chance to rewrite it so it is less "advertorial" but do you have any model/samples I could use as a guide? Also, this is definitely worthy - Andrez Bergen has been quite a busy producer over the past 15 years and has worked with Si Begg, Justin Robertson, Mijk van Dijk and others, plus run IF? Records for 15 years in Australia and Japan. I think we just need to fine-tune the article, and any advice, guidance would be great!! Note that: "This article was nominated for deletion on 24/2/2006. The result of the discussion was keep." DSK1984 (talk) 05:21, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Nina Phunsta said it nice (above): "Its definitely news worthy - Bergen is cited in The Age (one of Australia's principle daily newspapers) here, along with references from The Weekend Australian (another national newspaper), Britain's Muzik magazine, and Rolling Stone. His Little Nobody project has been doing music for over a decade, one of his albums was nominated at the Australian Dance Music Awards, and hes still doing music."
I'm starting to reckon that we should change this to a listing of Andrez Bergen rather than "Little Nobody", as he has several production/music names, and if you check his name at Discogs ([1]) its pretty extensive. I Google'd him as "Andrez Bergen" and it comes up with 30,600 leads. He's also got a minor listing on IMDB ([2] and I found out that he may have recently been doing some translation work for Mamoru Oshii (unconfirmed at this point however).
Also found this mention on the Australian ABC-TV ABC_Australia network website: [3] which credits Bergen as "Central figure of the growth of the underground techno/electro scene in Melbourne". DSK1984 (talk) 09:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I also think references to reviews from respected newspapers like Australia's The Age and The Weekend Australian make this worth keeping in some form or other. DSK1984 (talk) 05:25, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- Andrez Bergen's IMDB bio page is unreliable as it is written by him[4]:
IMDb Mini Biography By: Andrez Bergen
- Having a minor IMDB listing is not grounds for notability, especially for a predominantly music-related page.
- There are also countless artists on Discogs without Wikipedia articles. Discogs is altogether a different entity with different aims to Wikipedia. It is a community built database of discographies and music information rather than an encyclopaedia.
- You have not provided any external links to prove citations in the various newspapers and magazines mentioned above. The only working external link is the ABC Artist Profile, which relates only to contributions within a local dance music scene, as of 2003[5].
- Other broken external links and unverified claims in the article itself will soon be dealt with. WaltonSimons1 (talk) 09:23, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Walton for the feed back, really appreciated. I didn't notice the imdb attribution!
Regarding the "external links" you mention to prove the citations in newspapers like The Age, The Weekend Australian, Muzik magazine, and Rolling Stone magazine, how does one go about doing this?
I notice some of the complete reviews are on the IF? Records site here ([6]), but is that proof enough or would you need copies of the actually newspapers/magazines they were printed in? And how would we source that?
Hope you can help with advise!DSK1984 (talk) 12:17, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- You must obtain verifiable information from reputable sources. The IF? Records website is not a secondary source. See the note on the article's page regarding notability:
- This article may not meet the notability guideline for music. Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic. If notability cannot be established, the article is likely to be merged or deleted. (July 2009)
- WaltonSimons1 (talk) 14:37, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Okay I see, Any way, I want to see if I can make this better to suit guidelines but I would love help/advice as I'm new at this. Some of the interviews/reviews are from the 1990's so most magazines didn't have Web sites then, so tricky to verify, but I'll try and contact them and see. I think new ones will be easier to prove, so if I do (somehow!) manage to finds editors/writers, what would you need as proof from them? Thanking you in advance DSK1984 (talk) 16:07, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
My 10 cents is that we should keep it, but it definitely needs to be polished up and made less superfluous - there's no doubting the significance of the entry, but it's over-extended.Popstarr69 (talk) 07:09, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Please note my concern about input of WaltonSimons1 here as discussed on some other pages including deletion notice for this entry. I think this needs to be cleared up, too.DSK1984 (talk) 17:07, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- As per my discussions with Duffbeerforme, I have contacted Bergen in Japan and he can make jpg copies of the original media articles/reviews from The Age, The Weekend Australian, Rolling Stone, etc, available to us - which should satisfy reliable, secondary sources needs.
- I agree with Popstarr69 that this entry should be rewritten, updated, and slim-lined, though I'd prefer not to engage in this activity due to COI warning. Anyone interested in undertaking the job?
- As also discussed above, please be wary of the input of WaltonSimons1, whose actions and intent on this entry are not established yet but he seems to have a not-so-hidden agenda to have it deleted for personal reasons - please see discussion about same on the deletions discussion page here: [[7]].DSK1984 (talk) 00:55, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
By all means continue to make unsubstantiated claims. It is after all your forté. One question to DSK1984, how are you able to contact Bergen via email[8] so easily if you are only just a big fan? Surely you must be more than such if you are in close personal contact with your hero. WaltonSimons1 (talk) 16:32, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- WaltonSimons1, will you please just stop?
- You have yet to counter any of the claims that you are solely here with a hidden agenda to have this article deleted for personal reasons since you have not been involved in any other Wikipedia matter and have been extremely counter-productive rather than constructive. I also know who you are and why you are doing this and it's a bit pathetic. Do not make claims like "it is doubtful such copies will actually surface" (your personal message to me yesterday) without evidence to the contrary.
- Duffbeerforme and I have discussed getting digital versions of the articles, which I have confirmed with Andrez Bergen in Tokyo.
- It wasn't so hard tracking down Bergen with a tiny bit of detective work - first I tried a personal message to him through the www.inthemix.com.au forum you also contribute to, then I found his MySpace site (http://www.myspace.com/littlenobodymuzak) and emailed him through that. You could always try the same thing.
- Anyway these sources are available. All I need to know is how to get these on-line or hosted, or should I get Andrez to put them on something like yousendit so we can download?
- This question is for Duffbeerforme and/or other more constructive users here, NOT WaltonSimons1 - and "Walton", I would prefer you to stop contacting me directly, okay? It's bordering on harassment.
- And claims like "By all means continue to make unsubstantiated claims. It is after all your forté" just isn't constructive here or professional in this forum.DSK1984 (talk) 23:41, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
"How are you able to contact Bergen via email so easily if you are only just a big fan?" .... Are you kidding WaltonSimons1 in this day and this digital age? Come on people lets stop being silly and start fixing up this article so it meets Wiki standards.Popstarr69 (talk) 01:48, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- I was finally able to get Andrez Bergen to send us the digital records of a lot of those article/reviews mentioned in the entry on Little Nobody and you can download the set HERE http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T4B96ZLG
- I hope this helps to make every body satisfied! ;-)
- Phew!DSK1984 (talk) 01:55, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks to DSK1984 and Mr Bergen I have improved the sourcing on this article and on the articles on Pop Tart (album) and Action Hero (album). based on the number of good references I have removed the notability? tag. Maybe now WaltonSimons1 might cease the SPA crusade against Mr Bergen (pot kettle black). Duffbeerforme (talk) 15:50, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, Duffbeerforme, for all the assistance and help all round in making this article appropriate for Wikipedia. DSK1984 (talk) 05:04, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
