[edit]- "Young, handsome and articulate, he seemed destined for greatness, a view he undoubtedly shared." WHAT??!! Jackk 10:24, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Peacock was not forced to resign
[edit]"In September 1985, Peacock tried to engineer Howard's replacement as Deputy Leader by John Moore, but the manoeuvre backfired when the party room supported Howard, and Peacock was forced to resign"
That is not entirely correct. It was Peacock's own decision to resign as leader, the party room's decision to retain Howard as Deputy was not a reflection on his leadership since they wanted Peacock to stay as leader. As Paul Kelly says in his End of Certainty book the party wanted Peacock and Howard to work together and stop the fight between them. --The Shadow Treasurer 04:14, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
My recollection is that he was forced to resign as a result of his own stupidity, but I have no objection to it reading "and Peacock resigned." Adam 04:36, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Shouldn't the infamous Car Phone conversation between Jeff Kennett and Peacock be included to illustrate the relationship he had with Howard? 219.89.114.194 23:32, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, it should be in there.--Lester 04:51, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Disputes with Fraser
[edit]- "He had a number of acrimonious disputes with Fraser, particularly over the recognition of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia." - this assumes the reader knows whether he supported or opposed the recognition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.115.123.40 (talk) 14:55, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
