Comment by Angry mob mulls options
[edit]Nothing in the "match fixing" article really implicates either Johns, more like just gossip, and the NRL seems not to have taken it any further.

Ergo, removed. --Angry mob mulls options 09:41, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Can someone add in some details of his personal life - wife, kids etc?
Barge Arse
[edit]Johns is a barge arse
POMS TAKE TO BARGE
who says that joey weighs 130 kgs?
Vulgar word
[edit]There is a vulgar word - cunt - in this article which is not suitable for an article that may well be accessed by children. -- Preceding unsigned comment posted at 00:41 on 21 June 2010 by 121.209.161.243
- Please read this on Wikipedia policy regarding censorship. If you have evidence that the quote is not accurate, then by all means please correct it. If it is accurate, then there should first be a consensus among editors to remove or change it. I, for one, am currently of the opinion that it seems to be relevant to the section in which it occurs and, therefore, should remain as it is. However, I am more than willing to discuss it; just because I have a particular opinion now, does not necessarily mean that I cannot be persuaded to change it in the future. Cheers! -- Bgpaulus (talk) 00:56, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Understood and thanks. I have not edited the article to take out the work, and did not intend to do so without seeing how others responded. The problem is that one user thought that the way to respond was to delete my comment on this talk page. That is the reason for the current edit warring - it is all about what is on the talk page. Nothing has actually been changed on the article yet. --121.209.161.243 (talk) 01:01, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- the word has been widely reported in the media and given its context (the impact of the use of this word on Johns' career, and we don't censor out things because children may look at WP. end of story. LibStar (talk) 01:05, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- we also don't censor talk pages by (repeatedly) deleting comments from them if those comments genuinely raise questions for discussion about what should be in article
--121.209.161.243 (talk) 01:09, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- end of story, there is nothing further to discuss. your question has been fully addressed. LibStar (talk) 01:12, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. It just needed to be addressed - not deleted.

Kurri and Cessnock
[edit]Did he really begin his junior football " in Cessnock, playing for Kurri Kurri.." . If he played for Kurri Kurri then wasn't he playing in Kurri Kurri ? -Sticks66 13:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Weasels
[edit]"Many past & present members of the rugby league community were split on the issue of his admission to drug use. Yet in the end many stuck by Johns given his admission & discussion of his depression & anxiety while playing professional football at the highest level."
Says who ? How were they split ? How did they stick by him ? Were they many ? Says who ? And what is a "past member of the rugby league community" anyway other than a dead fan ? These weasel words drive me crazy. -Sticks66
Please update
[edit]Reference 13 no longer works and Hazem El Masri should be linked as present title holder when talking about highest points scorer at end of his career. (I don't know how to do this).
Lemon Pickets (talk) 08:16, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Career Statistics
[edit]Is this section needed, considering most of the stats are mentioned in the info box at the top of the page? Shelbypark (talk) 06:46, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Mistake of fact
[edit]The paragraph which describes the 1997 grand final is wrong. It states that Johns sustained an injury against the Sharks where he punctured a lung 2 weeks before. The sharks were a Super League team that year and therefore were not playing in the same competition.
Hooker?
[edit]Wasn't a large portion (the early portion) of John's national rep career played at hooker ? Can we have some words on that ? Who was it who keep him out of the half-back spot and when was that ?-Sticks66 14:22, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
B-class Assessment?
[edit]How can the Andrew Johns article be assessed as "B-class" when there are 14 citations needed for verification? At best it would be a "C-class" assessment. Adamdaley (talk) 04:32, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- I've changed the assessment from "B-class" to "C-class" to reflect the numerous "citations needed" throughout the article. Adamdaley (talk) 03:10, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
