[edit]I came across this article while searching for the page on Ancalagon the Black, the mightiest of all dragon in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. I am assuming this genus derives its name from Tolkien's work, rather than the other way around? As I believe Tolkien derived the dragon's name from one of his own invented languages, Sindarin. Might be worth adding if it is so. --LetsGetHistorical (talk) 05:18, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
Found confirmation (http://burgess-shale.rom.on.ca/en/fossil-gallery/view-species.php?id=96) that the genus' name is indeed based on Tolkien's character, will add to the article. --LetsGetHistorical (talk) 05:21, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yep, seems like it.-- OBSIDIAN†SOUL 12:49, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
