Superfluous info

[edit]

I'll just leave this here, in case anybody needs it:

The book is devoted to the life and work of historian Alexander Ratner (1948–1991). During the years of stagnation, this researcher didn’t want to compromise and refused to defend his thesis for PhD. Instead he worked as a history teacher, then editor of the magazine "Soviet Bibliography”. His main interest was the historiography of the Russian liberation movement, and he collected a vast amount of valuable information from archives and through interviews with historians and their descendants. The book includes several articles by A. Ratner (about the historians of books and the revolutionary movement), his diary, letters and collection of his notes for his bibliographical dictionary "Historians of the Russian Liberation Movement."
