Anandanagar is small place located in western part of Purulia District of West Bengal. Anandanagar means place of joy. It is the head quarter of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha. Its name given by Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar aka Shrii Shrii Anandamurtijii, The founder of Ananda Marga and PROUT Philosophy. River Uttara and Daksina flows through Anandanagar. It is famous for Tirtha Pith, a place for spiritual meditation. Ananda Marga College is located here. In future, Guruluka University wanted to build up in Anandanagar. ANDS, Ananda Nagar Development Society is working for its development.
