CHIPTUNE PUNK?!!

Punktune! Chipcore! Showtunes! --24.147.75.237 (talk) 05:33, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
There is considerable debate as to whether Anamanaguchi is even "Rock". There were edit wars on this page that removed the "Punk Rock" and "Indie Rock" designation. I can't speak for all Anamanaguchi fans or everybody familiar with the band and the history with Rock Music (of which I am all three), but I can hear Punk Rock elements in the production of Anamanaguchi, just with added Chiptune; not all of it is Disco- or Electronic-influenced. I also think the "Indie Rock" applies as they are not on major label (except when they did the Scott Pilgrim Video Game soundtrack). I certainly think they qualify as "Rock" because they consist of two guitarists, one bassist and one drummer who play traditional Rock instruments. The only difference is that chiptune instruments play at the same time and the band tries to "keep up". Though Wikipedia is not about taking sides, I think at the very least we should start a dialogue with those Wikipedians who say that Anamanaguchi is not a rock band to thwart future vandalism. --IronCurtaiNYC (talk) 15:05, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Wouldn't Anamanaguchi classify as Bitpop? They pretty much fit the bill, at least for Dawn Metropolis. --98.255.157.105 (talk) 18:51, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
Associated Acts
[edit]I have some doubts as to whether Fang Island belongs as an associated act. 8bitpeoples belongs because Anamanaguchi released their first EP, Power Supply, on that label. Knife City belongs because that is a side project of Luke Silas, the drummer of Anamanaguchi. George & Jonathan belongs because the "George" refers to George Michael Brower, who was in a previous incarnation of Anamanaguchi alongside Peter Berkman and James DeVito. The only association Fang Island has with Anamanaguchi is that they are friends with Anamanaguchi and Anamanaguchi remixed one of their songs. I think that's a low bar to consider as an "associated act". What do you guys think? Should Fang Island be kept or removed as an associated act? --IronCurtaiNYC (talk) 14:05, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
Because nobody has objected after many months and edits, I took out Fang Island as an Associated Act as well as the "dubious" tag and "misleading" warning. IronCurtaiNYC (talk) 13:25, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Miku Expo 2016
[edit]The band was the opening act for the Miku Expo 2016 North America concert, shouldn't that be added to the "2013-present" section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.1.100.7 (talk) 18:52, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

Soundtrack consistency?
[edit]Why is their work on Scott Pilgrim takes off listed under filmography? If Scott Pilgrim vs the World: the game, is listed under soundtrack and not “game soundtrack”? Chetwandjael (talk) 03:23, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
