Potential Edits

[edit]

The article could include more information about the history of the site and the structure of the Anaheim Convention Center. They would be more infomative for individuals doing research on the site and would be more helpful than events that are held at the Convention Center There were also several links that were dead in the References List. Opening Week: Rock 'n Roll

[edit]

The opening of the Anaheim Convention Center was a one week long Rock 'n Roll exposition, with rock bands performing daily in the Center's open-area display hall, and nightly concerts given by two bands in the Main Auditorium. Most folk, rock, and psychedelic bands and individuals of the time participated (The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were notably absent). Tickets to the display hall and concert hall were sold separately on a per day basis, with an all week/all events ticket option. Jimi Hendrix performed mid-day and mid-week in a common booth at a table upon which, lying on his back, Hendrix sang and played his guitar in an upside-down position while watching the crowd pass by. The final concert in the Main Auditorium was performed by The Doors. The closing song was "Light My Fire", and while singing the final chorus line "Try to set the night on fire", Jim Morrison, the bands lead singer, ignited a full box of standard kitchen "strike anywhere" matches and threw the burning box into the crowd. The startled police and firemen could but watch as the sold-out crowd went into a wild frenzy as they clamored for the burning matches. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Usuper (talkcontribs) 10:08, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
