Wiki Article Evaluation
[edit]Wiki Article Evaluation: Amyloplast
The article has very little information on amyloplasts. Most of the information is very general and doesn’t go into much detail. The article in no way covers amyloplasts comprehensively. The information that’s there, however, is pretty easy to understand. It’s as organized and focused as it can be for so little information. There’s not much evidence presented for the facts the article gives - there are only two references in only one section. Adding references is something at would greatly improve the article. The article doesn’t have any sort of designated “introduction” and just sort of jumps directly into vaguely defining amyloplast. The only subheading is about statoliths and their role in gravity sensing which it does an ok job at summarizing but there are no references. Plenty of things are missing especially in regards to the development of amyloplasts and how they synthesize starch. There are two picture that do help visualize what an amyloplast is and are helpful. There are footnotes for the two references. These references seem fairly reliable - there only might be a problem with one of them since it’s pretty old and from 1973. As far as I can tell, the information presented is unbiased and is all fact (just no references). There doesn’t seem to be any sort of hidden amyloplast agenda snuck in there.
