Suspected use of AI/LLM services in generating most of article's text

[edit]

I strongly suspect that most of this article's contents has been generated using an LLM/AI service like ChatGPT. This article contains flowery and overly descriptive language which is not in line with our normal tone on Wikipedia. There is also some evidence of the hallmark hallucinating of source material, for instance the referenced webpage for the section on 'Administrative divisions' which contains a list of parts of Amreli Taluka but none of the language included in the section. The sections on history, economy, culture and the text portion of the section on geography are unsourced. Each of the sections contains the same vague and flowery language. While I would caution that AI/LLM plagiarism checkers like GPTZero can be unreliable, the ones that I have checked this text against have all returned results that indicate a very high likelihood of AI/LLM usage.

Please be very careful about the use of LLMs and AI services when you are editing Wikipedia articles. It risks introducing unhelpful and misleading information. In this case, it just seems to have produced a lot of overly descriptive text that violates the Manual of Style. I'm going to add a maintenance tag and then cut down on some of the language. See the 'WikiProject AI Cleanup' for more information [[1]]. Boredintheevening (talk) 20:15, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
