The golden Hits Of?

[edit]

I have an album that is not listed. It is called The Golden Hits Of and is released in 2005 by Romana. The code is 9798801031576. It has a very simple booklet and wasn;t that expensive. It might be an illegal version, but I have found quite some on eBay for sale. Most from Germany, btw (I am from the Netherlands, so close by ;-)

This is the track listing:

14.ولا ليله
15.قمرين
16.نور العين
17.تملي معاك
18.

I do not speak Arabic, I just copied this from some eBay-seller, but it seems to be the same as on my cd cover.

Can anyone shed some light on this and maybe add it as a bootloegged release or something?

Amro Hiba?

[edit]

Yeah, can we stick to spelling his name phonetically and without nicknames. 'Amro' would be misleading to someone who is not familiar with a variant of the transliteration and who even calls him 'Hiba'?

Wikified

[edit]

This article needs to be wikified.

In what way it should be wikified? protected or edited? Please clarify User VarunRajendran? -- thanks, Omernos.

Subheadings

[edit]

I think the biography section looks absolutely jammed.

Subheadings should be added, what you guys think?

Arabic Spelling

[edit]

Can someone please explain why his name has an extra waw after amr? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.27.119.90 (talk) 06:32, 4 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

That is how Amr is written in Arabic, with an extra waw, عمرو. —Anas talk? 14:22, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, 'Amr' without the 'waw' would become another common Arabic name, 'Umar' 131.252.202.42 01:11, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I made a little change in the external links section: I corrected the link of the official website, it was amrdiabworld.com then they changed their domain name into adwforums.com, where's the problem here? I also added a new link : amrdiab.info, it's a well-known Amr Diab site managed by some of his close friends, they always bring exclusive materials, also it used to be as a trusted source for his news! I hope I didn't make any problem thanks!

Opinionated

[edit]

hmmm...

Amr Diab has been known as the best Middle Eastern singer for over 20 years, and has never failed to impress his fans with great albums over the course of his career.

Sounds suspiciously like an OPINION!

Diab has become one of the highest selling Middle Eastern artists of all time ?

Please don't just ruin Amr Diab's page

[edit]

Hi everybody

My name is Mohab and I'm one of Amr_Diab's fans who really cares about him and his famous name specially on the internet. As lately I've added Amr_Diab's page to my watchlist to keep track of the ruining that was going on there, but unfortunately I finally found that most of those who have edited that page was just fooling around.. adding unreliable references, deleting data and even replacing some of them.

They even removed the official fans websites.

We all know that everybody can freely edit any page here in Wikipedia, even those who are not registered users, but we should be a bit more responsible for our actions.. n I hope we care more about those people we love to listen to specially Amr_diab

I finally wana say that; I will try to get most of the reliable references back.

Sorry for my typo*. Regards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by M3lm (talkcontribs) 23:17, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The following line

Amr is very modest and honest person, as one of his widespread attitudes, he admitted that the thanks of what he had become, refer to God at first, then to Muhannad Majdalawieh, his mentor and loyal advisor, in all his way to fame. sounds more like a fan-rant than information supported by facts/reference(s). I propose to delete this.

Done. It clearly goes against WP:NPOV as well as WP:PEA. Copana2002 (talk) 23:56, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

false sales

[edit]

i'm well aware that amro diab is the king of the arabic music....etc but for god sake let's be realistic , not even Celine Dion ( THE BEST FEMALE SELLING ARTIST OF ALL THE TIME ) can make 3 millions in a weak WORLDWIDE so how about amro and in egypt only i'm not denying the album's success anyway here is an article saying that all the statments from VMG are false , & they won't declare the number of sales for any artist http://www.filfan.com/News.asp?newsid=12379 --Ahmed90 dh (talk) 07:07, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Section on Diab's relationship to the recent uprisings

[edit]

Although some fans of Diab may object to the inclusion of Diab's relationship with the Egyptian uprising, I feel it is very appropriate for a full picture of the pop star's place in Egyptian society.

Wikipedia entries on Egyptian celebrities (e.g. Diab's peer Tamer Hosny) include such historical detail, because it is noteworthy, and of significance and interest to many. Please do not tamper with this section, but please add any verifiable detail available. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Forestflyer (talkcontribs) 04:46, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple sources document that Diab left Egypt. Without sources, please do not tamper--change only if you can source.forestflyer (talk) 08:12, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This section seems to just be books about world music or the Middle East in general. I would suggest deleting the whole section. Any objections to this? Clarinetguy097 (talk) 04:52, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Full Discography Updated

Hi

I'm a fan of Amr Diab. I discovered that the whole page was extremely out-of-date, missing numerous dates and releases. I recently updated the page according with Amr Diab's daily postings on Facebook and the official website. Hopefully this will give you more insight into Amr Diab's Career.
