Combining page

[edit]

Unless someone can point out specific examples of the use of the term "Amp Rack" besides that of a 19-inch rack, this article is pointless. All the information should be found in the 19-inch rack article. --EEPiccolo 21:19, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The age of the above remark, the fact that there are very few page views and the fact that the WikiProject above is either inactive or semi-active suggests that combining this article with the 19-inch rack article is long overdue. Please object and discuss or I will proceed in a week. Oddjob84 (talk) 23:06, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't feel strongly one way or the other about this merge proposal. I'm just responding to let you know that WP:PSP is not inactive. Things move at a relaxed pace in this corner of Wikipedia. I have put up some merge banners and directed discussion here. I usually wait a year before acting on merge proposals where there has been little discussion. Of course this discussion was started 10 years ago so... ~Kvng (talk) 15:45, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

merging makes sense

the "amp rack" page holds no valuable information, except the fact that 19" racks are commonly used for audio (and not only telecom). IMHO, a redirect (to ease search and prevent someone from creating the page again) and a mention on the 19" rack such as "since their introduction, 19" racks have become common in other domains such as audio and laboratory equipment."

maybe a mention could be made that, in this regard, mobile racks (embedded in flight cases) have become very common as well. 62.203.35.109 (talk) 22:16, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this article topic is notable, keep it and keep it here. If it's not notable itself, then delete it - it doesn't belong elsewhere. Andy Dingley (talk) 00:39, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
