[edit]What is up with that picture? Is it 'self-made' in the sense that Etzioni made it himself or did someone just draw Etzioni and then put it up? Perhaps a photo would be more in order. Hauser 04:34, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Blog
[edit]An anon IP has changed this: Weblog link twice to others - neither of which seem to be appropriate links for the article. I would have replaced this, but I can't get it to load and suspect it is no longer live. I've moved it here so others can add it back if it starts working again. -- Siobhan Hansa 15:12, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Horrid picture
[edit]The article had a terribly ugly picture of Amitai Etzioni. The picture seems to have been drawn by one of the editors in Paint (software). I am interested in reasons as to why it should be included.--Agha Nader (talk) 06:30, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
NRA enemies list
[edit]Does anyone know why he was put on the NRA's enemies list? [1] --GentlemanGhost (talk) 03:51, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
Bibliography
[edit]I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. Feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 06:54, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

Resolving Autobiography and COI tags
[edit]I worked on the beginning of the article but it would be optimal if someone has access to this book, such as through your local public library, and were willing and able to vet the current content. I think the currently length of the article is fine, but you should check the claims given the COI and heavy reliance on the autobiography. Bodole (talk) 21:39, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Edit details in the article
[edit]{{help me}} The information underneath "Criticisms" regarding his publication "Should Israel Flatten Beirut to Destroy Hezbollah's Missiles" does not include the corrected title. The criticisms refer to an article published in the Israeli left leaning newspaper Haartez. The article argues the opposite, that it was wrong to bomb Beruit and calls for other steps to avoid hitting civilians. The editor briefly gave it the title "Should Israel Flatten Beirut to Destroy Hezbollah's Missiles" but soon changed it to "Should Israel Consider Using Devastating Weapons Against Hezbollah Missiles?" For more details, see Protecting Civilians: Response to Hajjar, published by Global Dialogue. In addition, Amitai Etzioni has launched a new platform called CivilDialogues in leu of the civil dialogue series he ran pre-covid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Communitarian703 (talk • contribs) 11:56, November 13, 2020 (UTC)
- @Communitarian703:, this is not an issue that needs administrator help. You can request help from other editors via an edit request without waiting for an administrator. The Biographies of Living Persons policy require that requests such as this be supported by references to coverage in reliable, independent sources and changes such as you request won't be included without that type of reference. Asking other editors to go find a reference for you is generally not effective. I hope that helps. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 17:56, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- As this does not specifically require an administrator, I have changed it to a standard help request. 331dot (talk) 20:16, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- As this is a question about content, properly located on the talk page of the article in question, I'm turning off the {{help me}} batsignal. You should probably more precisely say how you think the article should currently read. Or you could change it yourself. Other editors can come to this section to agree or disagree. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 21:41, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jmcgnh:, note the COI declaration above. It is commendable that Communitarian703 has requested these edits instead of making them themselves. The only reason I did not make them for them is because of sources and specificity. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 21:47, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- Eggishorn, I see the COI connection mentioned above. So this should become an {{edit request}}, once it is made clear what citations Communitarian703 wants changed. Also, ideally, a COI declaration should be on the user page and should mention more explicitly the pages where a COI exists. I urge users to write a statement in their own words about their connections, as this allows a more nuanced explanation than the boilerplate templates. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:40, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Equal vs. "just the reverse"?
[edit]In Criticism section on Elizabeth Frazer, the article states, "She also mentions Etzioni's thought that the community has a moral standing equal to that of the individual when she firmly believes it is just the opposite".
So, if I read this right, Etzioni says "A=B", and Frazer firmly believes just the opposite, that B=A? What does this mean?? Jmacwiki (talk) 18:42, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
