Replaced with Redirect

[edit]

At the suggestion of Phil Bridger, I've replaced this page with a redirect after a few days with a PROD tag. Given the questionable notability of the article's subject I haven't immediately seen a decent place to merge the information into the new parent article; attempts by other editors are welcome, although I might disagree with creating a new section specifically for this composition. Comments are welcome here or at my talk. SingCal 18:59, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear SingCal: Thank you for your editing on this page. I am one of the composer's son. In reply to your inquiries I have attempted to augment the article with greater detail concerning its compositional structure and the composer's intentions. I apologize for not providing adequate details earlier when I first created the article. I have been busy editing the parent article first. I hope that these alterations are adequate and that the article itself remains listed under its original title (American Rhapsody). Kindly remove your request for the deletion of this main article and the placement of a redirect page tag on the article. Feel free to contact me at my talk page at pjs012915 if I may be of further assistance and thanks once again for your kind assistance in this regard 2/27/08. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pjs012915 (talkcontribs) 21:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SingCal: I've eliminated the stub class tag since the article has adequate content. I've also replaced the song tag with a classical music tag since the composition is not a song. Thanks again Pjs012915 (talk) 19:34, 1 March 2008 (UTC)pjs012915[reply]

Main writer asserted "I am one of the composer's son."[1] about his eulogic articles American Rhapsody and John Serry, Sr.. 62.147.36.251 (talk) 15:48, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Undid Redirect by User:Damiens.rf

[edit]

I am the primary writer and have undone the editing by User:Damiens.rf, who redirected the title of this article to the parent article John Serry Sr. without making an effort to salvage any portion of American Rhapsody. Since the result of the deletion review process calls for a merger of this article into the parent article, I believe that this action is unwarranted. A I shall make an attempt to merge the full contents of this article into the main article shortly.--Pjs012915 (talk) 20:11, 26 April 2009 (UTC)User:pjs012915[reply]

Included an archive section for the score and recordings of the composition

[edit]

I have included an Archive Section with reference citations for original copies of: 1) the published score to American Rhapsody for solo accordion from 1955, 2) the score for the transcription of the composition for solo piano circa 1985 and 3) a performance by the composer John Serry Sr circa 1960 as archived in the John J. Serry Sr Collection of music at the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music's Sibley Music Library within the Ruth T.
