This article looks like it was pretty much copied and pasted from the ANERA website, which is why it initially received the copy-vio tag. It looks like the website has since changed, and I don't know how appropriate the copy-vio tag is, but it still reads like an advertisement. I've started cleaning it up a little bit, but it needs a lot of work. -- Irn (talk) 03:02, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and removed the advertisement tag, but the Programs section could definitely still use some work. -- Irn (talk) 05:18, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tone could be made more encyclopedic

[edit]

The tone of the intro paragraph (mostly its last sentence) and the rest of the article give an impression that isn't quite Wikipedia-like. The content is mostly well-sourced, so the article could likely be improved by rewording without deleting content. TROPtastic (talk) 01:56, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

[edit]

In 2017, ANERA was accused by an Israeli NGO, Shurat HaDin, of funding several terrorist activities. ANERA rebuffed these claims formally on its website. This was covered by the Israeli media (for example here and here). More recently and possible less relevant, ANERA came to scrutiny under the initiative to defund USAID, as the largest Islam-related beneficiary of USAID. I believe these accusation merit a mention in the article, in order to provide a more encyclopedic and neutral tone to the current "advertisement". Please add a "criticism" section. נוף כרמל (talk) 17:41, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
