I'm gonna go ahead and delete everything in the introduction that's turgid butthurt editorializing. There's a reason that only "some of this happened" is sourced, the rest Is BS. let the facts speak for themselves and allow the reader to decide for themselves what kind of attempt the movie made.
I'm changing it to:
American hustle opens with the unusual tagline "Some of this actually happened." The events depicted onscreen are only loosely based on the abscam scandle, and there are several dramatic departures from the record of that event.
Now, I don't have time at the moment to go through the rest of this section and edit it for tone (right now it reads like it's condemning poetic license in general, despite the film making no bones about being a fictional account), but somebody should. And maybe I will later on. Great movie, doesn't deserve the vaguely impolite treatment it gets in this section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.95.198.249 (talk • contribs) 04:38, 15 March 2014
O. Russell allegedly abused numerous people during the making of this movie, including Amy Adams in such a way that Christian Bale had to intervene. It's referenced on O. Russell's Wiki page, Adams talked about it in interviews etc..., wouldn't it be relevant to add it here ? Pharmyriam (talk) 15:46, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My opinion is that it belongs in his article but not here. If it had been physical or sexual abuse that might rise to the level of notability. Sundayclose (talk) 16:02, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
