"sound speed" is correct. I rephrased it to avoid any suspicion of a mistake, and also added a wikilink. --Art Carlson (talk) 11:20, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Both are correct. By definition the ions and electrons must flow at the same speed, that is the essence of ambipolar diffusion. This also happens to be the local speed of sound in that plasma. In the context of the article I believe that same speed would be more appropriate. Jimmel9 (talk) 14:43, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
