/* Reception */ needs balance
[edit]As is, the "Reception" section entirely consists of criticism of the subject of this article. Is there positive coverage in any reliable sources? Anton.bersh (talk) 06:07, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Literally EVERY PERSON (Techie or NOT) I have told about this feature (particularly its being auto-enabled) on their Amazon devices... has opened up their APP and disabled the feature. While the intentions are good, there are major privacy / government tracking concerns that make this "feature" most-negatively-received, even among people whom might otherwise opt-in. Reid Sullivan (talk) 12:46, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Balance for its own sake is not valued by Wikipedia. The article should reflect the sources. If the sources discuss a predominantly negative reception to Sidewalk, then the article should reflect that, and that appears to be the case.
what's its purpose?
[edit]I read the whole article and it talks about Bluetooth, echos, dog collars, and iPhones but never says what Amazon Sidewalk's purpose is. I get that it's a thing Amazon made for devices to talk to one another, but what are they talking about and why do I care? Unless there's a benefit to me it's just to benefit and Amazon's business somehow. Jawz101 (talk) 17:56, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm guessing it's something to do with helping Amazon drivers deliver your packages and keep you up to date when on when they'll arrive at the next stop. Jawz101 (talk) 18:01, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
- It's purpose is to refer you to amazon. This service helps the people who made that possible get paid for referring customers. Through clicks, purchases, interactive context, etc. 24.19.141.129 (talk) 14:31, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
