Misogynists Kicking Women Out of Events
[edit]Perhaps it was a desire to be surrounded by all men. Maybe it was simple misogyny. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.246.89 (talk) 18:08, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
Negative Impact Needs work.
[edit]I am removing the part about Derrick Rose in the Negative Impact section. It really does not add any encyclopedic value to the AAU entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericsean (talk • contribs) 17:08, 15 October 2009 (UTC) Ericsean (talk) 02:59, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Unexplained removal of material
[edit]I see that User:12.228.62.50 was warned and eventually blocked (24 July 2010) for removing material from this page. See User talk:12.228.62.50 where there is the suggestion that the IP is at the AAU office. I believe Whois confirms this.[1] Since that time User:Dorazior has twice (17 and 24 August) made a series of edits progressively reducing the article to an extremely similar truncated state (diff and diff). Both accounts have only edited this page. Can some further action be taken? Thincat (talk) 15:25, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
- The only thing that can be done at this point is to keep an eye on the page and if the blanking continues, request protection at WP:RFPP, warn the user about blanking, and if they identify as being a company employee, who's just trying to 'fix their article', inform them of our COI guidelines, and direct them to Wikipedia:Contact us/Article problem. If this is indeed a result of negligent COI editing, a notice can also be posted at the Conflict of interest noticeboard. -- Ϫ 03:24, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Bodybuilding titles?
[edit]For many years the AAU Mr America (Mr USA?) was a defining event of the bodybuilding world; I see that sport is no longer an AAU offering, I came here trying to find a link to the AAU bodybuilding records which are out there somewhere, in relation to another page or two. Shouldn't AAU's connection to bb'ing be in this article even if they've discontinued their accreditation of that event (now subsumed by the National Physique Committee pretty much, don't know about officially)?Skookum1 (talk) 04:15, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
AAU presidents
[edit]Greetings, Wondering if there is a list of AAU presidents before & after Avery Brundage (1928 to 1934)? Regards, JoeHebda (talk) 22:58, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
Contradiction regarding founders
[edit]The opening paragraph and infobox have James Edward Sullivan cited as the founder, whereas the history section has William Buckingham Curtis cited as the founder. Flibirigit (talk) 10:17, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- Sullivan and Curtis co-founder of AAU: https://americasbesthistory.com/abhtimeline1888m2.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by PlainDonut (talk • contribs) 21:44, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
