I am looking forward to reviewing this article. I love astronomy. --Akrasia25 (talk) 15:10, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Needs more citations. I am in contact with the nominee. --Akrasia25 (talk) 15:06, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article is clearly written and covers an interesting topic. It is stable, most authorship is one user, Doug Coldwell. Doug Coldwell has many GAs to his name. It is currently ranked a C class article and was CE by WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors .

The six good article criteria:

1. It is reasonable well written the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct

it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead, layout and word choice.

2. It is factually accurate and verifiable It contains a reference section, presented in accordance with the layout style guideline;

All inline citations are from reliable sources;

It contained no original research;

I went through 5 of the references and found that they matched. Doug goes far in his research even clipping old pieces like this one https://www.newspapers.com/clip/71303291/asheville-citizen-times/

I removed some primary research.

It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism.

3. It is broad in its coverage

It addresses the main aspects of the topic;

It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail.

4. It has a neutral point of view

It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to different points of view.

5. It is stable

It does not change significantly from day to day because of any ongoing edit war or content dispute.

6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.

Images are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content;

Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.

Recommendations

[edit]
  1. Can you fix this reference? the page might have been deleted. https://www.fi.edu/awards?winner_id=3079
  2. Fix citations needed. = Can not do. There is a citation at the end of each paragraph. To have a citation at the end of each sentence is not needed, as you have tagged. I have done 160 Good Articles (7 this month, so far) and it is not a normal thing to request by the dozens of previous reviewers I have received reviews from. I have created 500 Did You Know articles that were all reviewed and passed AND again that was not requested by any reviewer. If you need that, I will not do and you can fail the nomination. I'm going back to completing the review I am working on for the Josiah Holbrook GAN. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 18:30, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. It is a great article. Thanks for the work.--Akrasia25 (talk) 18:34, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Done Thanks for review. I'll start working on the issues.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 15:34, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Akrasia25: If you think it is a great article, then do you think it is a Good Article. What would it take for you to remove the "citations needed" behind each sentence and for you to promote the article. I see only 1 item to be done and that is No. 1 above with the link. I don't understand what you are trying to say, so could you fix it. If this article gets promoted to Good Article, then it will be the eighth Good Article I have done so far this month. Thanks for your help.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:22, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
references 9 and 10 are in the wrong place in the article and placed underneath the references section. I am not sure what they refer to. I can delete them maybe.--Akrasia25 (talk) 23:21, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Akrasia25: I replaced the Sources section you removed. Please don't take that section out, as then it will not show the cite book templates correctly in the article. These two work together to give correctly the page number in the Reference section. FYI, all that is needed is an inline reference at the end of a paragraph (not every sentence). Could you remove the citation needed cn templates you placed behind each sentence, as it is NOT needed. Would you be interested in promoting this article to Good Article status, then it will be the ninth Good Article I will have received this month so far -> thanks.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:21, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Akrasia25: You marked recently that It contained no original research. If you think there is original research someplace that I have recently added to the article, let me know the sentence so I can remove it or add a reference to it as to where I found the material. Thanks.--Doug Coldwell (talk)
  • @Akrasia25: I assume you will be listing this under Astronomers and astrophysics.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 12:59, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
