Division

I was astonished to read this:

NOTE: The use of " / " is a stand-in for division (÷)

Certainly in the world at large six divided by two is far more often written as 6/2 than as 6 ÷ 2, the latter being something used frequently only in elementary school and the former being used in secondary school and thereafter. I changed it to this:

NOTE: The symbol " / " means the same thing as " ÷ ", representing division.

It wouldn't have occurred to me that such a notice would be useful, but on a number of occasions the culture of the management fields has seemd very alien to me. Michael Hardy (talk) 20:07, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
