This article should be updated

Resolved

DoneNow that Altera is an independent company again, I updated this article and this comment is now resolved.

As of March, 2019, www.altera.com goes to an Intel FPGA web site, and does not even include the Altera name anywhere. It appears that Altera has been completely absorbed by Intel. Somebody more familiar with Altera than I am might want to change the present tense sentences (Altera is, Altera's products are..) to past tense (Altera was, Altera's products were...), and add any other relevant updates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.240.213.197 (talk) 05:08, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This article sucks

DoneYes, the article needed a fair amount of rewriting, which I have completed.

It was obviously written by a PR drone.

"Altera's Nios II and Nios soft core processors and HardCopy II & HardCopy devices are extending Altera's reach in addressable markets"

Another example: Altera has developed a user friendly method for partial reconfiguration, so core functionality can be changed easily and on the fly.

I suggest removal of some of the sections, as they provide no real information only marketing talk.
