Could an administrator unprotect this page as I'm trying to redirect it to Altaf Gohar? The page log shows that it's been deleted once before, but I'm not sure how that is grounds for having the link salted/fully protected. Mar4d (talk) 06:25, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please clarify the proposed target. Altaf Gohar is this page. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:49, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ: Sorry, I meant Altaf Gauhar. Mar4d (talk) 08:21, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar4d: Are you sure that's a valid alternative spelling? The deleted page says that Altaf Gohar was born in 1963, while the Altaf Gauhar page says that Altaf Gauhar was born in 1923, so it seems they must be different people. If Gohar is also a valid spelling of Gauhar then a redirect would still be sensible, but I don't know enough about the language(s) concerned to be able to say either way. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 08:29, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mr. Stradivarius: As far as I know, there is no notable Altaf Gauhar born in 1963. There is only one notable Gauhar, and that is the writer who lived between 1923 and 2000. 'Gohar' is a valid alternative spelling of 'Gauhar', based on the Urdu spelling and most uses that I tend to find anyway. Mar4d (talk) 08:38, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
