Move charts of contestants and episodes
[edit]I propose to move all the charts to a new article to make this one better and more concise. The article could be "List of Alone episodes". Bod (talk) 18:37, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Reference links
[edit]Many of the reference links are bad and go to spam/harmful sites. Especially ref 13,14, and 15. Not sure of best way to keep original reference but yet still mark it as dead/harmful. 73.239.89.146 (talk) 02:28, 16 June 2020 (UTC) (Iaind)
Replenish
[edit]The Great Slave Lake has been the prefered location for awhile. I've been searching out info on whether or not the Alone production Co has to reimburse the tribe for. or perhaps replace. the animal wildlife that the contestants harvest during their stay. ―Buster7 ☎ 16:03, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Gear list
[edit]
If 40 approved items changed between seasons, a table would be nice to document that. The same for banned items. [1]

Also I was thinking about a table of winning contestants' chosen gear.
Didn't want to rush and make it to end up deleted. Do you think it's needed? Also a number of contestants made new "gear"/tools (wooden spear, gill net (from paracord), chair, ladder, bowls, mandolin, ....). I think a list of that would be good. It's educational. 31.217.30.234 (talk) 13:50, 2 September 2020 (UTC) |
- I mean, you could... It's the kind of esoteric stuff Wikipedia pop culture pages get all the time. But you'd obviously need to fix and be really careful with your table formatting, unlike the above – that's what will get you reverted. Brycehughes (talk) 14:07, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- It would definitely be great to have a gear list.
- I've tried watching that show from Belgium and video always refer to history.com for a complete gear list but that website is not available from here and in a longterm I'm not sure they will keep these lists available. Ecornely (talk) 10:12, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
- https://www.history.com/shows/alone/articles/alone-winners if you go here, you will find a full list of every winner gear. If you go to the individual season cast pages on History Channel's website you will find this list for every contestant. BigFootNC (talk) 19:35, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Links to tvruckus.com recaps should be removed or changed to Wayback links
[edit]The domain tvruckus.com appears to have changed hands. All of the links to the tvruckus recaps of Alone now redirect to a site that attempts to hijack and install browser malware. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:741:2:4A70:E9CA:CCA0:FEFD:3C64 (talk) 22:24, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Season Splits

Hey! It’s kinda hard to find/read about each season from this article and the LOE article. How about we split off the cast info and episodes into individual season articles?
Alone (season 1) Alone (season 2) Alone (season 3) Alone (season 4) Alone (season 5) Alone (season 6) Alone (season 7) Alone (season 8) Alone (season 9) SecondLooneyaccount (talk) 20:59, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
- Since there is not much about each season. I like having the summary table's all in one page so you can quickly scan and see when did the first tap out. this seasons day 15 appears to be the longest the first person tapped. You would have to open every page if not all on one page.
- If there is more indepth stuff a 2nd page would be useful, but doesn't seem to be much right now. 72.31.18.32 (talk) 13:54, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- If you add the participant gears, list the titles of each episode plus the quote that start them aso. I think it could really easily be split. Ecornely (talk) 10:14, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
Main page should link directly to season overview pages
[edit]Currently the new main page for the series does not link to the top level page for each season and it should do that, and somewhere intuitive. That should be the second level set of pages in this topic. Instead this main page only links to the page containing all episodes by season, and then only from that page can you link to any given season overview page.
I propose that the current "series overview" section should link to each top level season page instead of just to different bookmarks on the same the overall episodes page. This table is just reused from the all-seasons episode page though, and a change to that original in its original location wouldn't make sense since on that page it serves as a top index for the tables below it. So really the table on this main page wants to be a different table that links to each top-level season page instead.
Because once you're at each season page, you see the episodes for that season anyway, but you also see the contestants and other season background you might have come to wikipedia looking for in the first place. The current path to get to a season page is unintuitive and confusing. This top level page could also still link to the all-seasons episode page but just via the single link.
