"Cool article"
[edit]You know what.....this is a really cool article.......but it hasn't had any citation sources added since September 2007. Hmmmmmm.......tag for deletion?? I'll leave it for now, but will re-visit soon. Buddpaul (talk) 19:12, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Article name
[edit]I'm just curious as to why it's titled T38, but talks about the T40...? Duncan1800 (talk) 11:17, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- I will move this to Allison T40 if no-one objects within 1 week. Drutt (talk) 14:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I meant to explain earlier, and I thought I had. I moved this page from T40 to T38 in anticipation of expanding the article with more info on the T38. The T40 is basically 2 coupled T38s, so I thought it made sense to cover them together. Unfourtunately, the person who added so much info on the T40 did not use sources, and left WP right after I asked for specific cites. I had hoped that he would be able to add info on the T38 when I made the move, but that did not happen before he left. SInce then, I've had trouble tracking down specific info on the T38, or sourcing the T40 material. Hopefully at some point in the future, more info will be forthcoming. I'll try to rewrite the Lead in the next few days to reflect why this is at T38. At that point, I hope you won't feel that a move is necessary, or even a split. But if you do, please use the formal proposal process for moves or splits. Thanks. - BillCJ (talk) 20:54, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, so this page will eventually cover the T38, YT40 and T40. What is the origin of the T38? Was it derived from an earlier design? Drutt (talk) 21:41, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- It was probably derived from an existing turbojet, perhaps the Allison J33. That's just a guess, as I've not been able to find anything on it yet. It's a good question to keep in mind though, so thanks! - BillCJ (talk) 21:59, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- There's a 1952 Flight article on the T-38 here: [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.4.57.101 (talk) 14:52, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Merge of the T38 article
[edit]I have merged the T38 article as I have expanded the T38 section in the T40 article. If anybody write a more comprehensive article on the T38 feel free to re-instate it.Petebutt (talk) 15:53, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
- I've undone the T38 deletion, and will work on removing the T38 info from this article by this weekend. The T38 page has more than sufficuent info to stand on its own as-is. - BilCat (talk) 12:15, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
