When an artist is elected to member status of certain art societies, they can then use the official abbrievation of that society after their name. In this case Davidson was elected member to Royal Society of British Artists (R.B.A), Royal Institute of Painters in Oils (R.O.I), Royal Miniature Society (R.M.S) Metadadaist (talk) 19:09, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
