Airing on Thursdays

[edit]

When I go to the Channel 5 website, it clearly shows on their TV guide that the show airs on Thursdays, not Fridays. Yet in the "Series 2" subsection of the article, it lists Sept 24 and Oct 1 as the airdates for Episode 2 and Episode 3 (upcoming). Why is that? Should it not list the original air date in Britain rather than the date elsewhere? Episode 1 lists the correct air date (Thursday 16th of September of 2021, 9pm GMT+1). I'll make the correct changes unless given a specific reason for listning the episodes as airing on Fridays.

Photo of Drovers Arms / Devonshire Inn is incorrect

[edit]
The Devonshire Inn in Grassington became the Drovers Arms

I'm moving this picture from the article to the Talk page, because it's not the right building. It's a Wetherspoons in Skipton.

This is the Drovers Arms in the TV show, skip to photo 7 of 10. You can see that it has buildings on either side, terraced, and no steps up to it.

If someone lives in/near Grassington and would be up for taking a new photo of it, it's here on Google Maps.

The series three summaries look like a cut and paste? MapReader (talk) 05:03, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

They are - they are straight off IMDB. However, as I have not yet seen Series 3 I cannot amend them myself.Sbishop (talk) 07:45, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Where TV is Formica, cut and paste seems the best way to talk about most shows. For why should TV critics waste time and effort thinking of something new or clever, when lazy writers use the same old formula? But if The Truman Show is correct - and people "tend to accept the world as it is presented" - then why should anyone want to produce anything original? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.149.166.229 (talk) 16:14, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adding U.S. Air Dates?

[edit]

The episode description tables under the "Episodes" heading in the article highlight the "Original air date" of each episode, but this date refers to when the episode originally aired in the U.K. The series also airs in the U.S. on different dates, usually months later. The U.S. air dates are listed on IMDb and in series-specific articles on the website for PBS Masterpiece, the program that airs All Creatures Great and Small in the U.S.

Excluding the U.S. air dates and referring to the U.K. air dates as the "original" may be confusing for U.S.-based viewers that watch the series on the U.S. schedule. Rltraylor (talk) 17:11, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is something that would apply for most TV series that are broadcast internationally so it may be more appropriate to discuss this issue at Template talk:Episode table or WP:TELEVISION. EdwardUK (talk) 18:20, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
