Safavids

[edit]

The Safavids tree is marked as given undue weight because several reliable sources (found at Safavids#Genealogy—ancestors of the Safavids and its multi-cultural identity) "cast doubt on this claim". Since the veracity of the information is doubtful, it should take up less space in the article. BrightRoundCircle (talk) 20:51, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Current version of the article no longer gives this information undue weight - although the many genealogical trees are still confusing and some of them may be undue weight for similar reasons. BrightRoundCircle (talk) 19:54, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'd like to propose merging Family tree of Ali into this article, Alids, that is the descendants of Ali. The two can almost be considered duplicates per WP:DUP, their only difference being that the term 'family tree of the Ali' may also include the ancestry of Ali, which if desired, could be added as an extra table to Alids, which is also clearly the more important of the two articles. Removal of reliably sourced content

[edit]

Moving here the comment on my talk page by AlidPedian. My answer follows afterward.

Hi! Bro, you have added many Shia POV-pushing lines in the Alids article. It's better to improve them neutrally. Thanks. AlidPedian (talk) 20:43, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If the majority of reliable secondary sources say something, then that thing goes into the article. WP:NPOV applies only when there are multiple competing views in reliable sources, in which case they should be surveyed in the article with their due weight. In this case, however, reliable sources support every single claim that you have removed. I've reverted those edits. Before removing or changing reliably sourced content, you need to reach a consensus here first. Hope this helps. Albertatiran (talk) 07:46, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
