[edit]

According to the insert that came with the Alice Faye CD "You'll Never Know" put out by Living Era (ASV), she was actually born in 1912, not 1915 as commonly believed.

In the case of many entertainers, especially female, many of them would lie about their age because of laws concerning child labor practices; Faye was born in 1915.

Alice's wealth

[edit]

Changed the reference to Alice's wealth. Phil's comments on the show about Alice's money refered not to inherited wealth, but to the fortune she earned as a Broadway and Hollywood leading lady, mostly prior to their marriage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.66.158.103 (talk) 03:19, 11 October 2009 (UTC) Even if someone can find a citation, can this be deleted?>>> "The late rapper Tupac Shakur's mother, Afeni Shakur, whose birth name was Alice Faye Williams, was named after Faye.[citation needed]" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.125.135.72 (talk) 07:19, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alice Faye Was A TENOR

[edit]

I don't know what tone-deaf individual decided to list Faye's singing range as alto when she clearly sang in the TENOR range; she did have a rather deep voice.

I would like to go into the copy and make this change, however either the original poster or some other totally unmusical individual would then change it back so ultimately this would be a total wasted effort on my part but it still doesn't change the fact that Faye sang in the TENOR range.

Women are not referred to as "tenors"

[edit]

Women are not referred to as "tenors". Alice Faye's voice was contralto.Pokomoko1 (talk) 21:38, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How can we get a decent picture of Alice Faye on here?

[edit]

I have nice ones. Can this one be replaced?? It is poor quality and not representative.Pokomoko1 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 03:49, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
