needs work
[edit]This article needs improvement...wikify and bio guidelines. KarateLadyKarateLady 02:53, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Also, this needs a redirect (I think). The article won't come up unless you spell the name exactly with the upper case "G" so a redirect would help but I don't know how to do it. KarateLadyKarateLady 02:57, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Redirects for 3 spellings now exist.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 17:08, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, I don't think that wikifying is needed here. Everything is linked properly. It's not a great article but it's written ok and...well...wikified. --Woohookitty(meow) 10:54, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- And "needs improvement" usually would mean the attention tag or one of the cleanup tags. Not wikify. --Woohookitty(meow) 10:54, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Question
[edit]WTF is 'male dependance'??? Why not call it what it is..."another psychobabble/cheap-excuse for avoiding personal responsiblity".
- regardless, now no longer in article.(mercurywoodrose)75.61.132.26 (talk) 17:00, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
questions of his father side
[edit]was not her father of Irish or Scotish descent ? It waso nce on here, but now it is gone. Was this dis prove by someone online ? (Danny Boy 03:02, 28 June 2009 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Irishmonk (talk • contribs) Her father was of Scottish descent -- and I'm pretty sure she said as much (and perhaps why you see her wearing tartan on several occasions in Love Story).
- Not sure; can't find a source to back it up. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 04:49, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

First sentence in Personal Life section
[edit]Is the first sentence currently in the personal life section really necessary? It seems too personal to be included in any Wikipedia article and I think it should be removed. Catherinejarvis (talk) 20:08, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- Nothing on Wikipedia is necessary, but this is not an invasion of privacy. McGraw herself has used her personal circumstances to publicise the issue of abortion. Considering that a comprehensive article about her life would most likely include such information, and considering that she has discussed her abortion openly I see no valid reason to delete the sentence from the article. Betty Logan (talk) 20:28, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- I agree that the sentence should be retained, but I see no reason for it to be the first sentence of the section. I think it would be appropriate in the paragraph about MacGraw's autobiography. I'll move it in a few days, depending on whether there is further discussion here of course.CWBoast (talk) 12:27, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- I think part of the problem is that it is an isolated statement. Perhaps it wouldn't stick out so much if the section briefly detailed her pro-choice campaign work. Betty Logan (talk) 17:30, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

SCOTTISH ANCESTRY
[edit]Ali Macgraw's father Richard Macgraw was Scottish-American. The actress has confirmed this fact on several occasions. One only has to Google her name alongside the word 'Scotland' to find this confirmed by different sources, including a short biography on YouTube. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.181.16 (talk) 19:51, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
