Yubudirsi, Why are you adding original research content? Somalis were not in Ifat as rulers. Read WP:Original research policy quit violating it. I've seen you using Amelie Chekroun's work, did you read her thesis? She states Somali nationalists attempt to appropriate history, read p.17 [1]"the Somalis representing only a fraction of the imām's army. This appropriation of Futūḥ al-Ḥabaša and the figure of imām Aḥmad by the Somali" and "For what is reappropriation in the process of highlighting the Harari identity, it is, we will see, more legitimate than that of the Somalis and less nationalist and religious.". Did you also read Enrico Cerulli and what he stated about Ifat? See p.361 "It is very interesting to learn about the fact, certified by the Muslim writers, that in the State of Ifât, an Ethiopic language was spoken, 37 together with the Arabic one (the latter, probably, as the language of trade). The Semitic Ethiopic had, therefore, diffused more than that of today in the south-east of Ethiopia, in the XIV century, but during the last centuries, it succumbed to Dankali and Somali."[2] Ifat was in eastern Shewa hence before you accuse me of "revisionism" as you did here [3] I suggest you research this topic not use original research in articles. Can you explain this article you're working on [4]? Both Abasa and Dakkar are towns founded during the Adal Sultanate not prior as the archaeologist who visited Somaliland has stated all ruins date back to 1415, he couldnt locate any older ruins hence that article is just a rehashing of the Adal Sultanate. The conclusion was also that Zeila wasnt connected to Adal, it was an autonomous state. According to your "emirate of adal" article it states "The Kingdom was mostly located in modern day Awdal", how is that possible when the Harar region's ruins are older than Somaliland's? Let me quote archaeologist Jorge who was in Somaliland "In general, the materials found in medieval sites throughout western Somaliland show a consistent chronology which would date their construction to the Sultanate of Barr Saʿd al-Dīn (c. 1415-1573). The settlements located in the Ifāt and Harar regions have older chronologies (Fauvelle-Aymar & Hirsch, 2011: 36; Insoll, 2021: 498; Pradines 2017: 16), something that fits well with their position in a region with a much older Muslim tradition from which there emerged the main Muslim polities in the Horn of Africa." see [5]Magherbin (talk) 12:25, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I quoted Amélie Chekroun for another subject, and what you quoted from her book is her view on the later Imam ahmed many centuries post Ifat which is Adal. The Walashma dynasty of Ifat and Adal descend from the Somali sheikh Aw barkhadle, you've gone so off topic here just like on many other talk sections, so let's stay on topic and discuss whats on this page shall we ? Remove the categories there's no evidence Ifat rulers were Somalis. Where is your reference for that? Barkhadle is disputed he is noted to be a Moroccan. Lets say for argument sake Barkhadle was a Somali, thats still an ancestor and not the individual himself, no source links Ifat rulers with Somalis or even Ali Baziyu unless you're implying something similar to One-drop rule which would be WP:SYNTH and WP:OR.
