and Smith

[edit]

Who is Smith. There are 2 references in the article to Smith, but no description of him. 134.187.163.211 (talk) 22:40, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I looked up Naval Aviator number 6 and it’s Bernard L. Smith, USMC. The wiki page should at least say who he was if it’s going to reference his last name twice. Stryker6172 (talk) 01:06, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Improper Aircraft Description

[edit]

"Between October 1912 and July 1913, Cunningham made some 400 flights in the Curtiss B-1,"

There was NO "Curtiss" B-1 in this time period. The only Curtiss B-1 "Robin" model was introduced in 1928. Early USN flying boats were designated A-1 thru A-4 (see Joe Baugher's website [1] and Aerofiles.com [2]). The Wright B-1 was available at this time period. So Cunningham either logged time in a "Wright" B-1 or Curtiss "A-1" (or both), but NOT in a "Curtiss B-1". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chhamilton3 (talkcontribs) 23:22, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
