Parentage
[edit]Surely his Father is Scottish and his mother Greek-French...? AJRG (talk) 23:42, 23 February 2011 (UTC) The article had Alexi's parentage wrong. I just corrected it. His dad, Dimitri, is Greek. Cheers, Ianni P. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.146.62.24 (talk) 20:30, 23 September 2011 (UTC) This can't be right... Murdoch is a Scottish name, not a Greek one. Did he get his mother's surname instead of his father's? Reesorville (talk) 10:53, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

"Grammy-nominated"
[edit]I added a "citation needed" tag to the claim that Alexi Murdoch has been nominated for a Grammy. I spent some time on google and couldn't find anything to support this. Neither of his two proper recordings received such recognition.
I went through the list of compilations and soundtracks his music has been credited on that appears on allmusic.com, and I couldn't find any Grammy nominations there either. Best I can tell this claim is mistakenly based on the fact that his song "Orange Sky" was included in the film "Garden State", whose soundtrack album won a Grammy for best compilation soundtrack album. Though his song did appear in the film, it did not appear on the album due to licensing issues, and the Grammy was awarded to the album, not the film's soundtrack itself. Also, it is my understanding that the Grammy was awarded to the compiler of the soundtrack, not to the musicians themselves.
A quick web search shows this claim is being repeated verbatim in dozens of places without citation. If anyone has any information on this, please add it, or I will remove the claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.55.180.8 (talk) 21:05, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
- This was introduced in http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Alexi_Murdoch&diff=512816039&oldid=512800896 , which was in the middle of a bunch of edits by an anonymous editor. I think this can safely be removed given your investigation, and I'm going to do so.
