I created this article in response to a request at the DNB missing articles project.

The initial version is a direct copy of the article at Wikisource, stored here prior to any editing as a basis for comparison as wikification proceeds. -Arch dude (talk) 18:19, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gordon is notable because of his major contributions as an "antiquary." unlike other "missing articles" from the DNB, this one does not have many incoming entries. I think this reflects more systematic WP selection bias against antiquaries rather than a notability prpblem for Gordon. -Arch dude (talk) 20:27, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
