2005 Avangard contract

[edit]

I couldn't find a source anywhere for Frolov signing with Avangard Omsk for the 2005–06 season. My source for his 2005 contract with the Kings that was supposedly signed a month after his contract with Avangard indicates that there was, in fact, no contract dispute. Here is the removed content if a source can otherwise be provided: Frolov became a restricted free agent before the 2005–06 NHL season, and underwent initial difficulties in agreeing on a new contract with the Kings. He instead signed a one-year contract with Avangard Omsk of the Russian Super League. However, a month later, in August, he signed a 5-year, $14.5 million contract with the Kings. FWIW, I can't cite a source, but I cover the Kings as a freelance writer, and a source within the organization back then told me that Frolov did sign with Avangard Omsk at the time, just before the Kings signed him to his current five-year deal. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 00:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
