Proposed Updates to Bring Page Up-To-Date
I am an Alerian employee, so per wikipedia guidelines, I do not want to edit the page directly, but I noticed the following items could be updated to better reflect the company's current state.
- Introduction, last sentence to be "As of May 31, 2018, Alerian indicated that the total assets of exchange-traded products linked to the Alerian Index Series exceeded $14 billion." Source: https://www.alerian.com/wp-content/uploads/2018.05.31-AMZ-Monthly-Statistics.pdf. If this link is broken, updated information can be found on an Alerian factsheet or monthly statistic sheet.
- Indices section. Per wikipedia's goal that length be representative of importance, perhaps this should no longer be an exhaustive list? Major indices (judging by use in major media sources and linked-assets) would be AMZ, AMZI, and AMEI. It could be appropriate to include a single paragraph about the size indices. An exhaustive list of Alerian's current indices can be found here: https://www.alerian.com/indices/. Descriptions of any individual index can be found by either clicking on the index, or downloading its factsheet.
* Minor updates also needed to reflect changes in the index description, notably on AMZ and AMZE, which are no longer required to have 50 constituents. * Alerian has also launched two new indexes which could be included: AMCI and AMCS.
- Linked Products section.
* ALERX and MLPL have been closed and should be deleted. * MLPQ, MLPS, AMJL, and CAMIBX have launched and should be included if this is to be an inclusive list of all offered products. All Alerian-linked products can be found here: https://www.alerian.com/linked-products/.
