Touring Information

[edit]
  • The Touring Information for 2009 does not match what is described on the show official website. Can someone find the proper reference to justify the information presented please? If not I will delete and amend as per the information I take from the official website.[1]--Tewfik.zitouni (talk) 19:31, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Music

[edit]
  • Does anyone know the language that Francesca Gagnon's Song Vazoule (DVD chapter 9) is sung in, or if it is the imaginary language? (In the extras, Francesca says that Cerceaux is the only song to feature the imaginary language.) HueyCobra 08:32, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Could somebody please note in the Music section next to the songs which ones are sung in the show by the Singer in White vs. Singer in Black? Thanks!--Funhistory 03:58, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Funhistory, I don't have time to edit the article but observed the following based on the DVD (note that current live performances could deviate entirely or not at all):
  1. Introduction ('Mirko') - White.
  2. Synchronized Trapeze ('Vai Vedrai') - White.
  3. Fast Track ('Irna' / 'Valsapena' / 'Irna') - White & Black.
  4. Fire Knife Dance ('Le Feu') - White & Black.
  5. Clown With Candle - N/A.
  6. Hoops ('Cerceaux') - White & Black.
  7. The Strong Man ('Homme Fort') - N/A.
  8. Storm ('Nocturne') - N/A.
  9. Song Vazoule ('Song Vazoule') - White.
  10. The Flying Man ('Malioumba') - White.
  11. Clown With Rope - N/A.
  12. Russian Bars ('Barres Russes') - N/A.
  13. Contortion ('Taruka') - White. The Black Singer appears in the scene but does not seem to sing.
  14. Little Tamir And Bird ('Querer') - White & Black.
  15. Aerial High Bar ('Icare') - N/A.
  16. Finale ('Alegría') - White.
The Cirque Tribune also has very useful information on the music of Alegría; I didn't know there had ever been a male singer! HueyCobra 11:09, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Track listing

[edit]
  • I have tentatively undone the edit to Alegría (soundtrack) linking acts to the soundtrack. Principally, it doesn't seem to add anything to that section of the article. Moreover, the music changes over time and there is not always a neat correspondence as the above list demonstrates. Finally, the CD text does not make those linkages itself (with the explicit exception of the additional tracks) so that could be a source of confusion. Please discuss opinions and ideas here. Portuguese & Spanish meanings

[edit]

Alegría appears to have similar meanings in both Portuguese and Spanish:

HueyCobra 06:48, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alegría has an accent, therefore it can only be Spanish, since in Portuguese the word does not have it. It would be "Alegria". C010T3 02:17, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alegría definitely isn't Portuguese. I'm removing such information 200.180.189.71 (talk) 21:38, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alegria: In a New Light (2019 Show)

[edit]

I just noticed that the 2019 version of the Alegria show was put on the same Wikipedia page as the original show. I just watched the new show, and having watched the original show back in the day, think it deserves its own Wikipedia page due to the show being very different in nature to the original one. Although they both share some of the original songs and some characters, the new show has different acts, a different arc story, different creative team, and it is just a revamped new show, making homage to the original one due to its 25th anniversary. It would be the same as when a movie gets a remake... each movie has its own Wikipedia page with its own information. Estebanpirazo (talk) 13:28, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What has happened with this request. I fully agree the reboot of Alegria should have a new entry. Ssteiner (talk) 04:04, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
