To improve the article, the following areas will be developed in the order of most important to least important: Content, sources, images, and tone. In the contents, I would first reorganize the article into four main subheadings. These subheadings would be synthesis, applications, occurrence, and properties. After adding these four subheadings, I would then find more information to add for each section, with a strong emphasis on the synthesis and applications. The finding of new information would lead me to the area of sources, where I would find at least two new pieces of literature for each subheading. While that is being done, I would find a piece of literature to add to the missing citation in the last sentence of the introduction, as I have discussed, and change the current website references to published papers if possible. I would then add one good-quality image for the synthesis, occurrence, and properties. After that, I would add an appropriate caption describing each of them. I will add a mechanism for the synthesis subsection, a picture of an example of an aldonic acid in nature for the occurrence subsection, and an enhanced version of the only image provided in the current application for the properties subsection done by adding an aldose beside the current structure for comparison. Lastly, the article will be adjusted for tone, ensuring that the application subheading includes multiple viewpoints.
