Merger
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To not merge, on the grounds that alcohol other than wine is distinct and notable in France, and readers are best served by having such distinct topics separately discussed. Klbrain (talk) 11:48, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- with all due respect for the time it took to write the article, I'm nominating it for deletion because it doesn't add anything substantive to https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/French_wine#Wine_regions_of_France Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 01:55, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- Perfect solution! It would be so interesting to explore the other types of alcohol France produces, like chartreuse. Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 19:34, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
- Object. This article covers more than just wine. Beer is a thing too and it is mentioned here (beer in France has an article). In addition, check similar articles linked from "Alcohol in Europe" template - alcohol in Russia, etc. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 07:31, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose: the article was originally completely wine-focused, but now also touches on cider, chouchen, beer, lambig, brandy, and liqueurs. These subjects need expansion, and some of the wine parts can be replaced with links to other articles, but an overview article outlining the wide range of alcoholic drinks produced in France, is a good idea.
