Novus homo? I can't work out what the phrase means in this context. Loganberry (Talk) 00:24, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
Untitled
[edit]- A year has gone by, and there's been no explanation. If one isn't forthcoming, I'm going to take the phrase out. No point having a phrase that very few people understand unless it's explained. Loganberry (Talk) 01:30, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, that phrase has a pretty specific meaning, and it seems to me that that isn't it. It's probably best to remove it. I think the editor was trying to say something like "on his own dime", we could say something like "he paid his own passage to England"? -- Deville (Talk) 02:28, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've removed it, since the sentence seems to work perfectly well without it. Loganberry (Talk) 02:57, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed; as it is now is clearly better. -- Deville (Talk) 04:28, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Four in four
[edit]Four in four was NEVER called a double hat trick until 2007 when a Fox reporter *erroneously* used the term to describe Malinga's feat at the World Cup. Please do not re-insert the term UNLESS you can find a reputable citation for it, dating back to when Alberto's feat took place - 1907 or very soon afterwards. WillE (talk) 20:07, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
Descent
[edit]Albert is the descendent (grandson) of a slave from Antigua - see this book. This should be incorporated into the article. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 04:49, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
