Why is his name given in Yiddish in the lead?

Does he speak Yiddish? He's from the US, as are his parents. He's a very secular Jew, and I can't think offhand of any Jewish Americans whose names in Wikipedia are randomly translated into Yiddish. I'm happy to look up a Wiki policy on why this seems... at best random, if no one has an answer for this. Moncrief (talk) 04:48, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
