Assistance to clean up this page
[edit]I would welcome assistance to clean up this page but I would submit that since the subject was already and previously listed by someone other than myself in the List of Translators, he deserves his own entry. Robertforsythe 17:36, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- You can't use Wikipedia itself as a source to establish notability, and mentioning inclusion in a Wikipedia list in an article is poor style. Geoffrey Spear 17:47, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Okay I have changed that but what I really wanted to achieve was direct linkage to the List of Translators. That already has two references to him which themselves were linking to the wrong Alan Myers which I corrected. So how do I correctly make this linkage? Robertforsythe 18:06, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
title of The Sunday Times article
[edit]Could someone provide the title of the The Sunday Times (23.4.89) article? None of my libraries seem to index The Sunday Times. I would like to add the article to the Refs.
A quote from the article would also be of interest.

It was called 'In My View' and was part of a series where writers discoursed on their work. I had to pack a lot in and it's hard to prise any self-sufficient piece out. Here goes:
'In Nineteen Eighty-Four a character is in trouble when he can only find one convincing rhyme for 'rod' when translating Kipling into Newspeak. What would he have done with Vyazemsky's 'Russian God' where he would have to find eight rhymes for God - and retain all the original meanings at the same time?'
