Shu'ubiya?!

[edit]

Although "Shu'ubiya" is an Arabic word related to " peoples", I find it strange that it means " Persian art and culture is superior to that of the Arabs."

Please persian guys, stop this racism and nonsense.

Shu'ubiya is a well recognised movement in history. Your entry makes no sense. There is a lot on this in the Cambridge History of Islam.

I would have to question the objectivity of this entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.92.79.239 (talk) 17:55, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Founder of House of Wisdom?

[edit]

According to the Article House of Wisdom, it was founded by Al-Ma'mun. I have read the same elsewhere. What is correct? --AHert (talk) 13:42, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't this the same person and shouldn't the article therefore be merged? http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Al-Mansur_Ibn_Abi_Aamir —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.74.21.139 (talk) 19:07, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, there are seven namesakes Al-Mansur (disambiguation). They lived in different epochs, so their articles shall not be merged. Rgds / Mkch (talk) 08:35, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
