Clarification/Repetition in Wording

[edit]

I've just begun fleshing out the Akron/Family article, and will continue chipping away at it, adding references and things, etc. A primary concern I have is clarification/repetition in the wording of the article -- due to the facts that both albums are self-titled and that Akron/Family are essentially Angels of Light right now, toured almost non-stop this year with Michael Gira as Angels of Light but also as the supporting act Akron/Family etc, had brief headlining tours by themselves too interspersed between the support/headline tours, and so on. Suggestions for more graceful wordings, realistic substitutes for the phrase 'the band' are welcome ... J M C 09:39, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Discography clarification

[edit]

The description of the Tour CD seems to imply that its a collection of live, i.e. concert, performances, but really its just a mixture of at-home demo recordings and random noises/sound effects.

Missing Album

[edit]

I believe that Akron/Family also did an album called "Franny & The Portal" though the information I can find on it is scant. If anyone knows more than I do, they ought to add it.

Franny And The Portal To The Fractal Universe Of Positive Vibrations is one of 3 or 4 CDr releases that precede their first album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.136.77.110 (talk) 18:54, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any idea what year it came out? Perhaps it should be added to the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.91.201.26 (talk) 18:03, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:AkronFamily.jpg

[edit]

Image:AkronFamily.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Language in "Music and history" section's last paragraph

[edit]

The tone of the final paragraph of the "Music and history" section seems accusatory/inappropriate for Wikipedia. All that needs to be said here is that members of MitB accused Akron/Family of appropriating their skull logo, and that members of Akron/Family have stated that it was meant as a tribute. I will edit to fix, but I want to leave this here on the talk page in case of some sort of edit war. Reading the news, it seems like quite a few people are upset about this for various reasons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evan.morien (talkcontribs) 22:27, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
