[edit]Ninetytone please do not remove the info box in future it was put there to fall into line with the standard template box used for other UK fire and rescue services —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.156.109.33 (talk) 22:30, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Your claim that 'we have decided to re-instate this' was clearly misleading as I see no evidence of discussion. Regardless; the only useful parameter is 'Area' which is self-explanatory by the title of the article. The rest are unknown (save 'Staff', which is unsourced anyway) This article is about the services in general - we do not put an infobox on Law enforcement in the United Kingdom or Emergency medical services in the United Kingdom for the reason that they are about many different and unique services. In this case, what information there is in the box is better off in the article. The box provides no useful information. ninety:one 20:08, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Ninetyone the box mirrors that used for all UK fire and rescue service articles and has been added in the hope that someone can provide relevant figures. As I said please do not remove things without discussing first. The term "we" was used in error - its a form of language used in the uk when writing formal correspondance apologies for that. However you did remove the box without asking to discuss it first. I still feel the box should be left in order that others might add to it in future, however if the general consensus is that it should be removed then that is a different matter. But please do not just remove things without discussing them first that is not in the spirit of wikipedia. Thank you for your reply ninetyone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.115.180.250 (talk) 11:38, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- The point is that it is used on the individual FRS articles, not on Fire service in the United Kingdom. If this article was about the Heathrow RFFS then it would be fine, but this page is about RFFSs nationwide. Despite the fact that adding an infobox in the hope that information will be added is not an reason for it to remain, there are only two possible fields that can be usefully filled in anyway; 'Stations' and 'Staff'. Two fields does not justify the use of an infobox. With regards to your consternation at my initial removal, I was merely being bold. ninety:one 19:13, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Hi Ninetyone I take on board you points fully and totally see where you are coming from. My error was unforgiveable and I feel that I have made a rookie mistake. As such this warrants the immediate ceasation of me modifying any further articles. I should learn to look at what others put instead of jumping in feet first. i sincerely apologise for my mistake, and inconvenience this may have caused.I will not edit Wikipedia agaion until reasding fully all guidelines again as I have made this article a farce. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.115.180.250 (talk) 11:01, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
firefighting or fire fighting ?
[edit]Should this article be moved so the title has fire fighting as two words? RJFJR (talk) 19:40, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
